I can see different pricing of upgrading from Windows 10 Home to Pro. What I understand is if you already have Windows 10 Home edition which came with the computer purchased and you upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, the cost is less, but the bad thing is that if the computer is lost or something happens to it, you cannot use the same license on another computer because the license is bound to the hardware.
But if you buy a Windows 10 Pro, its a bit expensive than upgrade but you can use it on another hardware, it is not bound to the hardware. Did I understand it right? If not can someone explain better. Was this reply helpful?
Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. See DaveM’s reply. As he said, if windows came preinstalled on your computer, you have an OEM license and it’s permanently tied to the computer. Why do you want to upgrade to Professional? Do you use your computer as home rather than at work?
Professional isn’t better than Home. They are identical except that Professional has a few extra features that can be valuable to business users, but very seldom to home users. So there’s probably very little, if any, advantage for you to run Professional rather than Home, and my guess that upgrading to Professional would just be a waste of money for you.
The issue was that, this was a small company buying computers from vendors from retail sellers. So they purchased Microsoft 10 Home Edition but now the company is growing and need to install Microsoft Active directory and join this computer to active directory domain. This are company computers, the company was buying Home edition, but now we are going install Active Directory and Join this computers to AD.
